I used to think I wasn't allowed to be mad at God. But I don't think God wants us to pretend.
When we succeed, we pat ourselves on the back. We give ourselves a hand. We think we did it. But compare our effort with what God did.

Doubt is confusing and squirmy and invasive. It whispers to us over and over again in the worst moments. This chapter demonstrates just one of the ways to shut Doubt up.
There we are, panting and sweating, doubled over from the sheer effort of escape. Jesus holds us tight to Him. He whispers "You're safe now". Unless.
What kind of Lover doesn't see a future with their beloved? What kind of Romantic doesn't lie awake at night, dreaming sweet dreams about the new life they and their beloved will live together? Imagine Jesus lying awake thinking about you.
When an Israelite in the Bible times made a vow to God, it was private, between them and God. Unless, of course, if they were a woman. What gives?
A gift? Really? That?
What was God thinking?
What's the most destructive personality trait a person can have?
Is it Greed? Selfishness? Apathy?
Or could it be pride?
So the Israelites recommitted themselves to their crazy dream. They understood that they had sinned! They were ready to work hard now! So they charged up to Canaan and attacked their enemies.
